The Cape 31 Mediterranean Circuit opened its season finale in Hyères, France, today, with 20 teams racing through Saturday 26 September for the overall title. Reigning champion Stig, owned by Alessandro Rombelli, leads the standings on 13 points, four ahead of Stella Maris, winner of the last two rounds in Bonifacio and Scarlino. UK champions Khumbu and newcomers Niramo, halbtrocken 3.1, Gecko d’or and Victor Bordes’ young French team Outrage join the fleet for the final round, which also serves as the official warm-up for next month’s inaugural Cape 31 Gold Cup in Saint-Tropez.
