Riccardo Pianosi moved into the lead of the men’s fleet while Lauriane Nolot continued to dominate the women’s standings after the second day of racing at the Sardinia Kiteboard Grand Slam in Quartu Sant’Elena, Italy.
Shifting offshore Mistral winds made the day a tactical test, with competitors having to adapt as the breeze eased. The event runs from 7 to 11 October at Poetto beach and awards Formula Kite World Ranking points.
Pianosi leads a tight men’s fleet
Italy’s Pianosi leads on 14 points after the opening eight races, ahead of Czech rider Vojtech Koska on 17. Great Britain’s Sam Dickinson is third on 23, followed by Greece’s Kameron Maramenides on 31 and Austria’s Olympic champion Valentin Bontus on 32.

Nolot remains in control
France’s Lauriane Nolot tops the women’s standings on seven points. Fellow French rider Lysa Caval is second on 14, with Britain’s Lily Young third on 23. Israel’s Maya Ashkenazi is fourth on 24, while Italy’s Tiana Laporte sits fifth on 27.

Racing continues in Sardinia through Sunday, 11 October, when the final races and prize-giving ceremony are scheduled.
