Red Bandit Returns to Defend Its Middle Sea Race Title

The 47th Rolex Middle Sea Race starts at 11:00 on October 17 from Grand Harbour, Malta, sending the fleet on its 606-nautical-mile course around Sicily. Entries opened six months out and have already drawn a strong early list.

Confirmed entries include the German TP52 Red Bandit, winner overall in 2024, alongside the Volvo 65s Team Jajo and Sisi, and a doublehanded Finnish entry, Ponce. The race remains one of offshore sailing’s toughest tactical tests, mixing Mediterranean scenery with notoriously unpredictable wind around the Sicilian coast.
