Northstar III Extends Unbeaten Run at Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup

Northstar III continued her dominant form at the 36th Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup, winning her fourth consecutive race in the Maxi Grand Prix class as the Mistral wind built to 25 knots off Porto Cervo.

Peter Dubens’ JV76 has now won every race sailed this week, opening a commanding gap over the rest of the fleet. Her nearest rival sits 13 points behind in the overall standings, a margin that leaves little doubt over the direction of the class with racing still to come.

The result came on a day when Sardinia’s Mistral wind tested all six competing classes, building from 16 knots at the start to gusts of 25 knots across the course.

Racing continues Friday, 11 September, with the wind forecast to strengthen further through the afternoon.
