Two Boats Named Ylliam Are the Only Story Left at TF35 Versoix

Julien Firmenich’s Ylliam 17 still leads the TF35 Versoix Grand Prix after two days on Lake Geneva, but the boat chasing it just made the gap a lot more interesting than it looked twenty-four hours ago.

Ylliam 17 posted a 5-2-4-1 scoreline on day two to hold the overnight lead, solid without being dominant. Ylliam XII, Comptoir Immobilier, had the better day by far: two bullets, including a first race where the crew found clean air, rounded the windward gate three boat lengths clear of the fleet, and had crossed the finish line before Sails of Change 8 and X-Wing, in second and third, were even halfway down the final run. That result pulled Ylliam XII to within a single point of the overall lead.

The two Ylliam boats have now put ten points between themselves and the rest of the TF35 fleet, which settles one question, who’s actually racing for the win, on the eve of the final day, while leaving the one that matters wide open: two boats, one point apart, sharing a name and nothing else.
